Mishnat Eretz Yisrael

Mishnat Eretz Yisrael is a 21st-century commentary on the Mishnah that combines traditional and academic methods of interpretation, with an emphasis on the land of Israel as the backdrop of the Mishnah’s development. Composed by Hebrew University’s Professor Shmuel Safrai along with his son and daughter, Bar Ilan University professor Ze’ev Safrai and HUC-JIR’s professor Chana Safrai, the work includes running commentary on the text of the Mishnah, significant textual variants, and detailed explorations of mishnaic concepts.
